|----------------------| | ADDITIONAL WEAPONS 2 | |----------------------| WARNING Before installing, ensure you have a backup copy of the original "cgamex86.dll" and "qagamex86.dll" files because they will be overwritten. INSTALLATION To install the mod, unzip this archive in your "Return to Castle Wolfenstein" directory. If you have the first version of "Additional Weapons" installed, you need to remove the file "zzz_additional_weapons.pk3" from your "Return to Castle Wolfenstein/main" directory. To fully uninstall the mod, restore the original DLLs and remove the 4 files listed below from the "main" directory : - additional_weapons_2.pk3 - zzz_addweap2_ai.pk3 - zzz_addweap2_wolfanim.pk3 - zzz_addweap2_pickupnames.pk3 See the last section for a detailed description of these files. FEATURES This mod adds 3 new weapons to RtCW (single player) : |---------|--------|---------------|-----|----------| | NAME | AMMO | MAGAZINE SIZE | KEY | POSITION | |---------|--------|---------------|-----|----------| | MP44 | 9mm | 32 | 4 | 3 | |---------|--------|---------------|-----|----------| | PPSh | 45cal | 35 | 5 | 2 | |---------|--------|---------------|-----|----------| | Carabin | 7.92mm | 10 | 5 | 3 | |---------|--------|---------------|-----|----------| MOD CONTENTS AND HOW TO USE IT "cgamex86.dll" and "qagamex86.dll" : These files add the weapons to the game. Anything that works with the old DLL files should theorically work with the new ones. These are the same DLLs that most of russian addons require to install. So, if you play a russian addon with this mod installed, you don't need to replace them. "additional_weapons_2.pk3" : Contains the new weapons' models, sounds and icons. It doesn't replace anything from the original game, so you can eventually keep it after uninstalling the mod. "zzz_addweap2_ai.pk3" : Contains the new AI scripts for the SP levels of the original game. It will make the new weapons appear in the game. If you want to play with the original AI, or let another mod that also affects AI work properly, just remove this file. When you restore the original DLLs, you need to remove this file. If you play the original SP levels with the new scripts and old DLLs, you will get an error. "zzz_addweap2_wolfanim.pk3" : Contains the new "wolfanim.script" files for each characters. The new weapons' names (and some old ones that some characters were not supposed to have) were added to these files to make the NPCs handle them properly. Anything that works with the old animation scripts will work with the new ones. However, if you need to remove it (eg. for compatibility with another mod), you should remove "zzz_addweap2_ai.pk3" before playing the original SP levels. If you play them with the new AI and old animations, NPCs won't handle the new weapons properly. When you restore the original DLLs, you need to remove this file. If you play with the new scripts and old DLLs, you will get an error. "zzz_addweap2_pickupnames.pk3" : Contains the "text/pickupnames.txt" file, where the names of all the items you can pick up in the game are written. The new weapons' names where added to this file. It's disigned to work with the new DLLs only. If the DLLs and the "pickupnames" file don't match, you will see a misleading text while picking something up. Some addons contain their own version of the file. If you see misleading texts while playing them (even if you have uninstalled this mod), copying this PK3 in the addon's directory might fix it.
