---SuperGoldrush2--- goldrush made by SplashDamage/ID Software and only MODIFIED by NullZilla. Email = NullZilla0@hotmail.com -------------------- What's new in this version: ? That middle tower thing is now hollow on the inside and you can climb up it. ? New spiral stairs in the bank ? New air vent in bank ? More tunnels with a few surprises ;) ? A teleporter somewhere in the caves in a hard to get to spot that teleports your right behind the bank. ? Many more rooms ? A few bugs fixed ? New Lights in some of the darker rooms ? An even more efficient map which will give you lower FPS then even the original goldrush :D ? Better lighting even more then the original goldrush :) ? Slightly more efficient scripting here and there ? More realistic placing of the ambient music in the map (pvs) ? Allies can dynamite a "back door" in the bank to get the crates and escape easier. ? After truck reaches final spot game waits a few more seconds then normal before ending. ? New sniping spots ? You can get INSIDE the bridge and shoot from there. ? Random decor here and there. ? Even more stuff I can't think of right now :( Known bugs: ? On the inside of the bridge things are a little buggy. This will be fixed in _final. ? If you find any please e-mail me NullZilla0@hotmail.com -------------------- Hints, Tips Tricks, and more: ? People say "Oh great just what goldrush needs, more MGs for axis. This map maker is a moron". But little does this idiot know, the allies can use these MGs as well ;). Infact the new MG near the original axis spawn is useful for raping the axis as they come out of their spawn. Also to stop axis from getting to the tank allowing allies to repair it. ? Second balcony on bank does make getting the gold harder. This is why I made a "back door" the allies can dynamite to get the gold easier and escaping easier. Though some may argue dynamiting this door will even be harder then just grabbing the gold and running, what it does do is distracts the axis's attention from the gold. While they are disarming the dynamite, grab the gold, and vice versa. ? The new up-high "sniping ledges" are there for a reason. Use them. ? Crouch and get into a window and shoot from there. Chances are the enemy won't see you, and even if they do it will be too late. ? "Somewhere" in the tunnels there is a teleporter that will teleport you right behind the bank. Though this does come at a cost as getting to that teleporter you will be injured. So? Guess what, there is health and ammo cabinets right by the bank. Use them. ? Explore the map before playing seriously. There are so many new camping spots like in the tall tower. It's there for a reason, use it! ? MGs can be damaged with bullets and even a knife. Is that second MG making getting to the tank hard? Shoot it (with the tank's turret) and make 'er smoke! ? USE THE NEW PATHS! -------------------- FAQ: Q: Why did you make a "SuperGoldrush" map? A: Well I'm a big goldrush whore. I like the map. I really hated how you couldn't get on the second floor of the bank, and the dev's putting clip brushes in dumb spots like on the middle tower thing. So I thought, hmm why not expand a few things. Like more rooms, a few more MGs, more health cabinets where I think they are needed, and more. Originally this map was just a private map for my clan for us to play on (hence those posters in a few rooms which have members' names on them). I never expected it to be leaked to the public and submitted to various map sites! SO STOP CALLING ME A FUCKING NEWBIE AND DUMBASS AND FLAMING ME. I DIDN'T EVEN SUBMIT IT LOL!!! I have read some terrible things about SuperGoldrush on various websites. Saying it sucks, was thrown together quick, is easy to make, etc. Guess what? I would have really done some great detailed work on this if I knew it was going to be used on 17 servers (so far) lol. And this is why I made a second version with lots of the bugs fixed and better craftmanship. Besides, at this point I'm more worried about playability and game fluidness over making the map look pretty. Though I will have a _final version out in a while this 2nd version is just a temporary fix for the bugs and stuff and some fun new additions. I'm going to really heavily modify the entire map to satisfy *some* of the people that do not like it. Q: What will come in the _final version? A: ? MORE rooms and empty buildings opened up. ? More detailed brushwork. ? Maybe a third tank barrier. But a special one that can be satchel'd too. We will see though. ? New paths (lots of empty buildings taken out). ? More "Fun" stuff. ? Maybe a new forward spawn for allies to capture, closer to the bank. ? Even more sniping spots ? More tunnels/caves with cool powerups in them. ? I might add a second set of gold bars the allies have to get. Of course if I do that I would have to make it much much easier for the allies to get into the bank. Or I might make it for the second set of goldbars are somewhere in the underground caves. ? A button allies can press that triggers a trap inside of the bank allowing easier getting of the gold. ? A mind control device that will make everyone obey me and run this map on their server. Q: Won't Splash/ID sue you for editing their map and putting your name on it?? A: I don't think they will. For starters this is a free game, they aren't making money off of it. Secondly, it wouldn't look very good for them to be sueing a 15 year old (that's right I'm 15) over a free, semi-open-source game. And third, I do not anywhere say I made this map. I have only modified it in a way I see fit and still give them 100% credit. Q: You're a fucking asshole for taking an SD map and modifying it. A: Am I? Well sir, get a life and grow some balls will you? I respect your opinion, but it is just that, your opinion. What does it accomplish flaming me, spamming my e-mail, calling me childish names??? Anyway, For every person that hates this map there are 2 people that like it. And guess what? If you don't like it, don't play it! It's really simple, see! As I have said earlier, this map was intended for improved competition on my clan's server. I did not submit it to the public so stop flaming me. I also do not appreciate e-mails from "WillEREY" that say "NIGGER" 50 times. I am not even african. I prefer "cracka" if you are going to call me racist names. Q: u makeing this map that was alredy made shows u have no skillz fuker A: I can't really understand your poor english but I will try my best. Ok, this is like the 4th map I have made the other 3 were totally original. Yes they kind of sucked too I will admit but I have learned a lot since making those and SuperGoldrush was great practice. Although some people have the attitude that the sample goldrush is made for just looking at to understand how things work, it is much easier to learn and understand when you actually modifiy what is there, compile it, and play it. I will have a new map coming out in a few months that is totally original and isn't half bad. Q: yuor map is teh secks A: I think that's good. Thank you. Q: I really like the "shaking effect" your screen does in """EDITED""" spot. How was this accomplished? A: With a target_rumble. Q: How long did it take your map to compile? A: Due to some sort of bug I have no clue how to fix, this map all of the suddon jumped from taking 1 hour to compile to taking 7 hours. Much harder to add new stuff and test it :(. ---------------------- Thanks to: ? Drakir.tk for the health/ammo cabinet prefab. Not that I couldn't make one myself, it's just much quicker to load a prefab rather then creating multiple trigger brushes and models ;) ? Hummer for the gold bars prefab. Again not that it is hard to make square objects colored gold, it's just so much quicker with a few clicks of the mouse to load a prefab up. I really liked hummer's gold texture anyway. ;)
